Education in Singapore is broadly divided into two categories – Private Institutions and Public Institutions. Both private and public universities will award students with certificates of their respective disciplines upon completion, and the courses that these institutions offer range from Information Technology to Engineering to Law to Social Sciences.
Duration to Complete a Degree in Singapore
The length of time it takes to complete a degree in Singapore depends on the program and your level of study.
Undergraduate
Normally takes three to four years to complete. Specialist programs such as medicine or engineering normally take four years.
Postgraduate
Normally takes two years to complete. Some postgraduate programs, like a teaching certificate, can be completed in one year.
Doctoral Program
Normally takes two to five years to complete. It takes five years to complete if you choose to teach whilst studying.

To apply for a Student Pass, you must be accepted into an approved full-time course in Singapore. Part-time courses are not eligible. If you wish to transfer to another school after your application has been approved, you will need to apply for a new Student Pass.
